Cinema Strands

Lighthouse is a fortnightly discovery strand designed to give the film lovers of Hertford and beyond, an opportunity to watch films that might be slightly more off the beaten track than your mainstream titles.

Taking place every other Thursday at 7pm, Lighthouse screenings will include a variety of titles which vary from arthouse directorial debuts to heartfelt documentaries and quirky body horror titles. All Lighthouse screenings will operate a 'Pay What You Feel' pricing structure which will allow you to choose the price point that best suits you.

Flashback is our film strand that celebrates all things classic.

Whether it be a must see from the early 1900s or a film released in the last decade, we are looking back at films from the past we think all film lovers should see. Each month there will be a core classic film screened – think, top 100 list, but given that there is so much that can be explored in film canon, Flashback will have so much more to offer.

Children’s Corner is a monthly screening designed as a gentle step between BEAM with Baby and a standard cinema experience, helping younger cinema-goers get used to watching films on the big screen in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Tickets are just £5 each, with the lights kept slightly raised and the sound lowered to create a comfortable setting for young audiences and their families.

Children’s Corner is aimed at children aged 3+. Please note that adults attending without a child are not permitted, and anyone aged 12 and under must be accompanied by someone aged 18 or over.

A regular opportunity for cinema lovers aged 65 and over to enjoy great films in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Taking place once a month at 11:30am, these screenings are designed to create a friendly space for those aged 65+ to enjoy films at a quieter time of day. Tickets are just £7 per person.

At BEAM Seniors, you can come on your own, enjoy the film with friends or family, or strike up a conversation with fellow audience members. It’s entirely up to you.

If you’re not yet 65, you’re welcome to attend with someone who is. Up to four people can attend with each person aged 65+.

A dedicated space for parents and guardians to enjoy the big screen with their babe in arms.

Join us every Wednesday at 11am, where parents and guardians can watch the best new films while bringing their little ones aged 12 months and under along for the ride. Up to four people can attend with each baby, making it a great opportunity to enjoy a trip to the cinema with family and friends.

To make the screenings comfortable for all, the lights are kept slightly raised and the sound is lowered. Where possible, screenings will also be captioned.
