Safety and House Rules
Overview
- Management reserves the right to refuse admission.
- Every member of the audience must be in possession of a valid ticket. Babies (those under 18 months) are admitted without tickets, and at management's discretion.
- Latecomers may be admitted to the auditorium at a suitable break in performance, but this cannot be guaranteed.
- Photography, video and sound recording and the use of mobile phones in event spaces are strictly prohibited.
- Smoking and Vaping is strictly prohibited in all areas of BEAM.
- Only refreshments purchased on our premises are allowed to be consumed on-site and we request that you respect performers and other visitors when consuming refreshments during an event.
- We may record or take photographs of performances.
- Any persons may be subject to bag search upon entry, and may be denied access for non-compliance.
- No busking, soliciting, selling, leafleting, surveying, photography / filming, political activity, or any other form of commercial or lobbying activity is permitted without prior consent.
- Abuse of any kind towards staff or other members of the public will not be tolerated and will be reported to the police.
Prohibited Items
- Open bottles of drink/liquid
- Food purchased off-site, other than baby food or food required for medical purposes
- Professional camera equipment
- Lasers Flares/smoke bombs/fireworks
- Drones
- Air horns
- Gas canisters
- Any sharp or pointed objects
- Illegal substances
- Offensive weapons of any kind
- Any other items which we consider to be unsafe or pose a risk to public safety and/or security
Dogs
We welcome well-behaved dogs in ground floor public spaces, before 6pm. No animals are welcome in performance spaces, with the exception of assistance dogs.
What to Expect on Your Visit
Your safety is our priority. In response to a change in the UK’s national threat level, we have introduced some additional security measures across the venue.
There is no specific threat to BEAM, but we are taking precautionary actions to ensure the safety of our community.
During your visit, you may notice:
- Bag checks on arrival
- Increased security presence, with body-worn cameras
- Adjustments to entry and exit routes
- Additional perimeter checks
- Increased frequency of facility checks
Please allow additional time for arrival, and follow the guidance of our staff and security team while on site.
