Travel Information

Located in the centre of Hertford, BEAM is accessible by a variety of travel methods.

By Road, Rail or Ramble...

We encourage all of our visitors to use green travel methods where possible, whether by walking, cycling or even running to come and visit us. BEAM is a short walk from local public transport providers. If you live locally, why not incorporate a walk through Hertford town centre when visiting us? We also have cycle racks located around the outside of the building should you wish to leave your bike during your visit.

We’re within walking distance of both Hertford North and Hertford East Stations, with direct routes into London, or north to Stevenage where you can connect with other local and national rail services. If you need help with planning your trip by rail, the National Rail Journey Planner will show you the best way to get to BEAM.

There are bus stops located at Mill Bridge, just outside BEAM; services to and from Stevenage, Ware, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City and Broxbourne can all be accessed from here. For details on bus routes from Mill Bridge, visit Intalink. We are also a five minute walk from Hertford Bus Station, which provides a variety of services connecting to the local area. Check local bus timetables for more information.

We are just a short drive from the A10 and the A414, connecting you to major national motorways. There is no on-site parking available at BEAM, however there are a number of car parks within a short walk of us.

If you have additional access needs, the St Andrew Street Car Park has the nearest available blue badge bays, although they are also available at the other locations.

We listened to your feedback and are pleased to say we are working on a brand-new website to improve your experience with us.

Welcome to Act 1 - our temporary site that is in place whilst we add the finishing touches to the crescendo. Act 2 is now in development and the curtain will raise early 2026.
