Join us for the UK Premiere on 8 May, including a virtual Q&A with Director Kevin Adams and Terri Lyons.

‘Queen of Soca’ follows the journey of Olivia, a singer from the slums of Trinidad who uses her talent to escape an impoverished life despite her religious mother’s determination to stop her from getting involved in soca music. As a track she records goes viral, Olivia is invited to participate in “The Greatest Show on Earth” (the biggest soca competition in the country). Will she be able to rise to the occasion and take the title from the reigning queen?

Crossroads is a new screening series bringing bold, contemporary Caribbean films to cinemas across South East England. Curated from standout titles at the Trinidad+Tobago Film Festival, each event offers audiences the chance to experience powerful, visually striking stories rarely seen on UK screens. From intimate dramas to urgent, politically resonant work, Crossroads invites you to discover the richness and energy of Caribbean cinema – and to encounter new voices, perspectives, and worlds.
