BEAM F&B Sustainability Steps

As part of our commitment to sustainability across the food & beverage offer we are taking the following steps:

• Beverages will be sold in either aluminium cans or glass bottles. No drinks will be available to purchase in plastic bottles.
• We are part of the Hertford Refill programme – we will display the logo on site and on our BEAM reusable cups. We will have water dispensers for all to use.
• Within our café areas we will use glass or crockery.
• Within our Stage and Screen areas, and for takeaway purposes, customers will have the following options for the consumption of hot beverages:
  • Bring their own receptacle for a hot drink and be incentivised to do this with a 20p discount per hot drink purchased.
  • Use a cardboard cup with a rPET lid – recyclable in our mixed recycling.
• Within our Stage and Screen areas customers will have the following options for the consumption of cold beverages:
  • Use of a BEAM branded reusable cup which they can either buy for £1 (and take home) or which they leave for us to wash & reuse.
  • Bring their own drinking vessel.
  • For children the use of paper cups with paper lids and paper straws. Fully recyclable in mixed recycling.
• As far as possible we will work with B Corp suppliers or those with sustainable credentials.
• Our tea supplier, Birchill Teas, has the UK’s first fully solar powered tea factory. All teabags are plastic free.
• All our customer waste/recycling bins on site are made from 100% recycled plastic and customers can direct the waste streams as follows:
  • General waste
  • Mixed Dry Recycling
  • Glass

We are seeking to reduce our environmental impact as far as possible and are exploring ways to achieve this across our food and beverage offer.
