Finding Performances

This September, BEAM will be screening the works of auteur and master craftsman, Martin Scorsese.

Ordinary word processor Paul Hackett (Griffin Dunne) experiences the worst night of his life after he agrees to visit Marcy, a Soho resident that he met that evening at a coffee shop.

Often overlooked when compared to other titles in Scorsese's vast filmography and viewed as a product of its time; After Hours is an original and offbeat comedy, full of frantic energy due to the chapter of accidents that occur.

With stellar performances from Griffin Dunne and Rosanna Arquette and New York City presenting as a fully fledged supporting character, setting the backdrop to this urban fairytale, After Hours is now widely praised for its ability to make the nightmare of desperation a humorous fever dream.

What is Flashback?
